Featured Aquascape


“Route to Wilderness”

The concept behind this ‘scape was to create a woodland scene with the focal point being a “tree”.

As with most aquascapes the result tends to differ some what from it’s original concept, this ‘scape was no exception.

As you can see from the photos, this tank has come through quite a transition in the last two months and it’s still changing.



Aquascaper: Dan Crawford
Tank Size: 80 x 45 x 45cm
Filtration: Eheim 2026 Pro 2 and JBL Cristalpro 500 external canisters
Lighting: 80cm Arcadia overtank luminaire (4 x HO T5 24w)
Photo Period: 8hrs - 3pm to 11pm
CO2: 2Kg Fire Extinguisher, 2 bubbles per second, Rhinox 2000 diffuser, 24/7 injection
Fertilisation: EI (Estimative Index)
Substrate: 2cm layer of Tropica Plant Substrate covered in 3-5cm of black Unipac gravel, silica sand
Hardscape: Mini Landscape rock, Sumatra wood, Redwood
Water Parameters: PH 7.2, GH 13, TDS 553, Temp 24C
