8 tube 4ft T5 light unit

So I got given this giant lighting rig!! Whats the best size tank to put this over? I was thinkin 4x2x2 but maybe that would be too small for this much light?? Also, wheres the cheapest place to get a monster tank like this. haha

Best place would be over a reef tank!

nooooooooooooooo!! haha. All about the fresh water man. Might do a reef one day but not for years to come.

would probably cause big problems in a planted tank
the tank in my signature has 2 x t5 about 40cm from substrate

I can actually hang it so I can adjust how far above the water it can be. I can also run just 4 of the tubes but I was hoping to get a big enough tank so I could run all 8..... there must be somethin......?

If you are seriously considering using 8 or even 4 lights then you would need to match the C02 availability. That would not be easy & would require a lot of gas!!
However 4 tubes over a 2' deep tank, hung 60cm or more above the water will be ok if you can keep up with the maintenance.
