Hello guys,

So was cleaning the canister filter out yesterday (fluval 306) and both of the carbon bags were wrecked, bagged and binned it but the question is what can I put in the top/last compartment of the filter?

It's going to be high tech dosing ei ferts so maybe I'd be better without carbon and filling it with filter floss and a bag of purigen? (never used it read good things tho) if I use purigen how much would I need to use for a 50L tank?

Also feel free to recommend me some decent de-chlorinator just used the last of mine.

Thanks in advance,
Luke.

Purigen is good stuff, cleans the water nicely.

I chucked my filter wool out to increase flow, you don't need it.

Also, carbon does has its place and is useful. I use seachems carbon.
