Im putting together my 60x38x38 tank now and it came with an extemly low profile LED light (http://www.tankscape.co.uk/UP-PRO-Z-60c ... keyword=up )
I dont think this will be powerful enough or give as much light spread as I would like and it is attached to the rim of the tank which looks awful. I was thinking of selling it and using 4x 12w E27 LED bulbs ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230866566767? ... 1438.l2649 ) on one of these so I can use 4 bulbs off one pendant fixture - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-in-1-E27-Sp ... 3a5b208abf
The pendant would either be a modified serving bowl (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50057254/) with a hole cut in the bottom to allow for a cord (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/produ ... #/10081557) or an ikea foto pendant - (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/produ ... query=foto).
Would this be too much light for a heavily planted tank with emergent plants, pressurised CO2 and EI dosing.
This build would come in at under £30 for 48w of led pendant lighting but would it be worth spending an extra £16 to get dimmable bulbs and a dimmer plug or would I not have to use it ?
Can anyone see any problems with this build or any suggestions to improve it?
Harvey
