Tap water and Bioconditioning

I was wondering how effective bioconditioners are.
I mean how long does the effect last?
Are metal particles released back in the water at some point?
I'm asking because i was planning to prepare hundreds of liters ahead to avoid messing up with water every time.
I've always been using Sera Aquatan...it claims a "long" lasting effect....but there is no confirmed data as far as i know of...
Does anyone have better info?
