Does anyone have a good lead on a suitably padded clip, strong enough to secure the loose end of a hose which can be used during waterchanges?

I have a large tub with a pump and hose in it, with the same hose used to siphon from the tank and then pump into the garden. I then fill the tub with a rainwater/tap mix and pump this into the tank. I know using filter intakes is popular, but I prefer to have a tap valve on the end of the pipe so I can have a bit of control over how fast it refills. Looking for something I can easily attach and detach, which won't mark the glass, but won't risk slipping off...

I use these which you can pickup from Wilko's in different sizes

There is also a solid acrylic version that slots onto the tank, from Ebay.
