Anyone here share my interest in cryptic crosswords?
I don’t count myself as particularly good at it, but I do enjoy it. My Latin teacher at school used to start some of his lessons with a cryptic crossword clue, so this is how I got the bug.
What are your favourite clues?

SCREWDRIVER (Prison officer = SCREW, Club = DRIVER)
A very old cheese and dill ordered for starters, and fruit (7)
AVOCADO (First letters of “A very old cheese and dill ordered)
The result of a medieval banquet? (6-3, 5)
MIDDLE-AGE SPREAD
You four ‘ere, tell me of this feeling of well-being (8)
EUPHORIA (“Tell me” is a hint that it sounds like “you four ‘ere”)
And possibly my all-time favourite:
Pain! (6, 5)
FRENCH BREAD (You’ve got to read the clue in French!)
And if you want a really nice easy one to get you started, try this one:Determined to enjoy a camping holiday? (6)
INTENT (In tent)
And one or two I’ve made up myself:
Grass for every season can upset everything at first (6)
FESCUE (“At first” is a hint to take the first letters of “for every season can upset everything”, and fescue is a type of grass)
A choice of directions at railway junction? (6)
POINTS (Points are also compass points)
Spoke of seabirds, oddly (4)
SAID (“Oddly“ is a hint to take the odd letters from the word “seabird”, the result being “said”, which means the same as “spoke”)
