Hello all

I have some long hoses I use for water changes with a pump from the kitchen sink. The hose is around 8meters long but its going back with mold on the inside
What is the best way to clean a long hose like this?

Thanks

Hi
You could try a plumbers snake/spring!
With a piece of sponge on the end.
Do one end and reverse then do the other;)

Hi,

Often find its simpler to replace the hose, once the Algae has got a hold it will likey soon return if its just wiped cleaned internally .

With new hoses, when finshed with your W/C drain all the water out of the hoses an place so they can internally dry out fully, so reducing any chance of the Algae forming.

I'd just buy a new one. Got my 15m one from Homebase for £5. Never developed mould as I drain it fully between uses and keep outdoors.

Thank you all
Think I accidentally left water in it once which caused the issue

Will have a go with some of the methods

It’s probably just algae, and if the hose wasn’t clear you’d never think about it. I have a shorter siphon hose with algae in it and I just use it that way.
