Koralia Nano 900/Biomaster Inflow and Shrimp

I'm planning on introducing shrimp to my tank. Most probably many Cherry shrimp, with a handful of Amano.

I have a surface skimmer which I have made safe but I was wondering if the Koralia, even though it's their smallest one, would be a death trap for the little chaps. I found a thread here from a long time back that seemed to think it was fine, but this was a nano model that they don't even do anymore, so I wasn't too sure.

Also, would putting something around the inflow of a Biomaster 600 be advisable?

I can't help with the Koralia, I've never owned that type of powerhead, but for traditional powerheads and external filter intakes?
