Orignally set this tank up in March but kind of didn't finish it, so starting it again, now my exams are nearly over! Plan is to do a Nano South East Asian Biotope like a Burmese River Set up. All the plants and fish are going to be from around here. Except for the Hairgrass which some could say...

my light unit broke yesterday and the plants have no light source, i am looking for a new light but until then what should i do? Should i carry on dosing liquid carbon and ferts or not? Help would be lovely :)

this topic is rather interesting, when you said 'sporadic' growth what did you mean? from what i know sporadic means occuring singly or wide apart? is this correct? so marsilea crenata is not a very good carpeting plant? i have 3 pots of this waiting to be planted. i chose it over marsilea...

Finally the filter has arrived but not the light heater or hardscape! so i filled the tank up as i could see the crypts were starting to dry out. just dropped th eplants in floating about atm. will post pics when water has cleared a bit more. florabase is excellent! didnt cloud the water as...

ahh i was just thinking about the crypts melting, im guessing if i put them in a tray of water, the leaves will melt because of different water parameters? but then when i put them in the tank, the leaves crypts will probably melt again wont they? because of more different water parameters...

taa for the tip will try it, what should i do witht he plants atm until i can set the tank up? i dont have any filtration, lighting or hardscape in yet so dont want to fill the tank up? Atm they are in the packaging i recieved them in? thanks.
