    actinic lighting vs algae growth

Clive, I have read what you have said on this subject and have sent PMs back and forth with you in the past. So I am aware of what you are saying and agree with you. But the rest of the world isn't ready for this. I'll explain. I just want to tell everyone about my recent experience trying to...

    CSM+B Question

James, I don't know for sure that the deficiency is Iron. But I thought that Niotrogen and Magnesium effected 'old' leaves. This is strictly 'new' growth. So I am guessing Iron. I think that I might just go overboard and get CSM+B and Iron Chelated 10%. I don't want to dose Flourish everyday...

    CSM+B Question

Had a quick question about your experiences with CSM+B. I am dosing Seachem Flourish for traces and Iron. I am getting some new growth on my Repens which is yellowing. I think this is Iron deficiency. I would like to try CSM+B but don't have any experience with it. I have read that it still...

Using (2) equal wattage bulbs increase overall wattage?

Hi everyone, I read this elsewhere on the net: Example: Take a 10 gallon tank, by the math you could put 2 - 18 watt Normal Output Flourescent bulbs over it and have 3 + WPG "mathematically" but you still only have 18 watts of "intensity. You will not be able to grow many varieties of plants...

    EI Dosing Calculation Confusion

Thank you for the reply Clive. After posting yesterday I decided to look a bit deeper into this whole El dosing thing. After reading the original Tom Barr analysis page , I came to the conclusion that what I needed to do was start keeping track of my parameters, CO2, lighting, dosing, etc. Do...

    EI Dosing Calculation Confusion

So what exactly is considered higher levels? Article says to shoot for 2ppm.What range are we talking about? 3,4,5ppm? Don't have an issue with GSA currently (knock on wood). Would raising my PO4 increase plant growth? . So obviously 3ppm isn't the way to go. Interesting.

No bubbles when solenoid cuts on

Ok thanks. I have only seen/heard them being called a check valve.

No bubbles when solenoid cuts on

When you say 'return valve', are you talking about the check valve you put on the silicone tubing or something else entirely? Sorry for the dumb question.

No bubbles when solenoid cuts on

Only have canned air. Will try that. Yes, this is what I meant by 'fully open'. Guess this is wrong terminology. Fully backed off is what I meant. Was a bit frustrated at time of asking for assistance.

No bubbles when solenoid cuts on

Hi all, I just received a used Milwaukee ma957 w/solenoid. Followed the instructions I found online and set it up. I am having trouble with no bubbles coming out when the solenoid cuts on in the morning. If I adjust it so that I get bubbles, then they won't stop coming out when solenoid cuts...

    EI Dosing Calculation Confusion

Wanted to let you guys know that I got a PM response from JamesC about my questions. And here it is. So there you have it. As was one of my thoughts, it isn't an exact science, but an 'Estimative Index'. :text-imnewhere:
