Hi mark, thanks, the stone is starting to nicely blend in now. The initial scape had weeping moss which was removed but a fair bit found itself in the foreground, since the last trim i have let it grow a bit and i am liking the natural softened look of the foreground
Been using eloes ferts...
Quick update.
Tank and fish doing really well. Just got back from a 10 day business trip from Africa to see that my colleague at work did a really good job on feeding the fish and dosing ferts, first time I have come back to a tank in a long time with nothing to get pissed off about :) Got lots...
Thanks, they are by far my favourite fish I've kept, really looking forward to watch these develop. Went out and bought a mini selection of foods for them to see what they like best, so far good old flake is winner, not given bloodworms yet... Will be looking for some freeze dried brine shrimp...
I am no filter or flow expert but I would imagine the spray bar would need to be shortest to maximise pressure. You don't want a too long intake though as it can make it awkward to prime. Personally I would have the 2260 on one side with in/outlet on same side, and another filter on other side...
Hello, don't know if you have sorted this yet, but this place has all you need http://www.fishfurfeather.com/plumbing- ... 0_121.html
To connect the tubes you need hose tail fittings like this http://www.fishfurfeather.com/fff-hoset ... -5459.html with a threaded adaptor that's in Same category...
Re: James3200s New Altum... :) Tank
Today is the day that I finally got my Altums :D And I am VERY happy with them.. A few photos too, they seem to have settled in very well and coloured up nicely, i think they like planted tanks over bare bottom ;) They are truly worth every penny
Excuse...
After the leaking issues on hose connectors on my 2180 and 2128 I just like the simplicity of a big canister and powerful pump on top, very little to go wrong and on big tanks that's a bonus.
I run a 2260 with a 1262 pump upgrade (3400lph) and a 2180 on my 700LTish tank. If I had the choice again I would have gone for another 2260 over the fancy new eheims which I have had numerous issues with. Going by the 10x rule a 2260+1262 pump is nearly there, could use a smaller classic filter...
Re: James3200s New Altum... :) Tank
Hi Chris
AFAIK there are no particular grades to Altums, like say shrimp. The main differences with the Peruvian types are the size, true Altums get to have a very high body, banding colouration is different to scalares and they have a much more pronounced...
The 2260 is a beast, and a fantastic filter. On my last scape it ran for 2 years with me not opening it up for clean and it ran practically the same when I did eventually clean it, so good choice!
The 2260 comes with a big heavy duty media bag that is essential when cleaning the filter.
I use...
Re: James3200s New Altum... :) Tank
Cheers, all of us in the office are looking forward to the Altums, its a weekly question to when will the main fish be in the tank!
Thanks, you may think I have my way going by this tank, but we all know who is boss!
Re: James3200s New Altum... :) Tank
Thought I would do the last update before the Altums arrive.. they were supposed to be collected tomorrow, but there has been a delay and will be a little bit longer.
As you can see the tank has had some new additions, mainly removing of the moss, which was...
You need to have 0-10v analogue dimmable ballasts, about £55 for 2*54w and then a dimable controler which you can DIY if you are good with electronics or go for one of http://www.aquapro2000.de/en/Lighting-A ... :8650.html
Thanks for all the ideas, here are some answers;
I think I can rule this out. I tried putting a small bubble counter directly after the solenoid and I get a much more accurate control of bubble rate.
I have got one already, but I have ordered a JBL co2 specific one to try out as that is what...
Yes I can, it has separate adjustment for pressure/bubble rate. I am going to try and experiment a bit more today/ tomorrow am to see if I can sort this out better, but I have a feeling I will have to come up with a better solution.
On the same tank I have another external co2 diffuser running...
