Large water changes - the practicalities

For years I have used water straight from the tap with no apparent ill effect and this is with what some people regard as difficult fish to breed such as discus. The chlorine is quickly oxidized and gassed off before affecting the filter and in tern increase the radox of your water which can...

My venture into my new 760 ltr planted tank .

Re: My venture into my new 760 ltr aquariam. You might be able to play on the fact they have not made it to the dimensions they agreed to and get a small discount as had the stand been made out of metal, you would hove no option but refuse the tank.

So to say there is no point having one is miss leading. There might be an argument for the media on larger tanks with a higher co2 demand...

    c02 Reactors

I have made reactors in the past and bought one's and for the effort involved would go with manufactured ones every time now. My Aquamedic co2 reactor has never failed me, this is ran without any media in it. There are several other threads discussing Ebay reactors which may interest you.

My venture into my new 760 ltr planted tank .

Re: My venture into my new 760 ltr aquariam. I can safely say that a 7x2x2 is more than a handful for two average people :) , I nearly broke my back when there was 6 of us on a 8x3x2, you should aim for at least 4+ people.

    Transplanting established crypts

When transplanting crypts I always cut the roots about 2" from the rhizome and they have always seemed to recover quicker from the transplanting and produce new leaves faster than those which have not been pruned.
