I have 260l aquarium that has been running for a long time. It’s full of plants and has large and old angel fish with some random otos, corys and odd very old tetra. It’s Fluval Osaka, so tall rather than long which also is a challenge as the angels are endlessly on war path and need their line...

Also worth to consider that it might be more economical to keep the room the aquarium is a bit warmer

I recently noticed that there are some kind of tiny gastropods in my planted nano tank. Almost like tiny freshwater limpets. On stem of a crypt in the pic. Any idea what are these?

Hi! I have also started to mess around with arduino and I was wondering if there's a reason you don't use real time clock (RTC)?

I had Tunze in mind but they have no option to add remote alarm system. If that doesn't exist then Tunze might be the way forward.

It is for rather large system that someday may be part of aquaponic set up (fingers crossed!) at my place of work so unfortunately it has to be plumbed into mains. Flooding is not really a catastrophe as theres a drain on floor but I rather have some warning system in place for that eventuality...

I'm looking for an automated water top up system that would be possible to be plumbed into mains and ideally would send an alarm to a phone if tank flooded. The system will be set at my place of work so alarm from potential flooding would be very handy indeed as I'm not there during weekends...

Yeah it’s tricky, I’ll definitely consider it more carefully when I’m redoing this in few months. Wow, I think I’ve picked my Blairgowrie poorly as there is definite lack of ocean front! Otherwise it’s in beautiful part of the world by the edge of the Highlands.

My other tank is 260l and has so much plants and algae that I doubt amanos, if they still are there, would bother with it. Curiously A.reinickii also grows well there even if it’s deep low energy tank with fairly poor lighting. Could well be that someone has munched the amanos tho. Some plants...

Interesting! I thought amanos were the saints of the aquarium world but apparently there are some renegades. I may or may not have both A. reineckii and amanos in my other tank but as I haven’t seen any for about year I don’t know for sure
