    removing noise from images

I'd better keep well away then  The "Digital darkroom" is a fascinating place - and a lot more user friendly than splashing about in chemicals in the 'good 'ole days' :)

    removing noise from images

Saintly: 'Curves' - is that the same as tone mapping? My version of Photoshop doesn't have the curves function, but I think there is something like it in one of my Fuji programs (a RAW file editor). Have you done any HDR? I have seen some spectacular images (and plenty that are well weird).

How do you take full tank shots?

No, you've got hold of the wrong end of the stick. I've not shot above 200 simply because I've not needed to. Having said that, this afternoon, I tried a few tank shots at varying settings (even 1600 ISO), including manual & auto focus. Not looked at them yet though.

How do you take full tank shots?

I wouldn't - The Fuji's seem to be reknown for being bad (at ISO 400 & above) for image "noise". Can't comment myself, as Iv'e not yet shot above 200.

Fujifilm Finepix S5800 - buying an SLR camera

Be careful if using fully auto - the Fuji has a crude from of image stabilisation, in that it increases the ISO setting to give a faster shutter speed & thus reduce camera shake. A general rule for these cameras seem to be not to shoot above 800 ISO (some would say not above 400 ISO) because...

Fujifilm Finepix S5800 - buying an SLR camera

Aaron, I have the S9600, and like it a lot. Be aware though, that Fuji bridge cameras (S5800 etc) can suffer from "purple fringing" on images with light backgrounds/dark subjects, or vice versa. Seems to be a lens issue & is well documented if you google; but don't let that put you off...

    New FinePix S5700 [Amature]

I would not use fully auto - Get used to using P or S or M modes, you get more control. Also, I guess that in Auto mode, the camera will select the ISO speed for you (it does on my S9600), that is not always a good thing. Practise & experiment ! Take 3 or 4 shots of the same subject at...

    £100 - £120 camera

Not necessarily, the lens in the camera is more important than the mega pixels! Above 6 MP is more if you want to make large prints otherwise is pretty much useless. Too right - and how many people actually make large prints? Not many, I bet. But I guess it looks impressive when you're...

    Soaking plants?

This might be totally incorrect; but I wonder if Adam is referring to a Copper based solution used to kill off snails, before the plants are sold. I'm sure I've read this on the Greenline instruction sheet; it says to wash the plants as the solution is harmful to shrimps. Maybe?????
