    Fish stocking

I think just about ok. The Congo's get to around 3", they are your biggest bioload here.

    Jungle Style at 28C

25c is fine, more needed for breeding, but I keep Boesmani with the themostat set at 22, although the water is often a degree or two higher. My oldest Boesmani fish are now 10 years old.

    Journal Jungle pond project...

Yes it is Gunnera, but not Manicata. It's tinctoria which is what most plants sold as Manicata actually are. A more manageable 5-6ft high. Manicata grow huge! 😁

    Journal Jungle pond project...

It's kind of a Jungle ...haven't paid alot of attention this year, seen a heron about occasionally. Also had a massive problem with ulcers on the goldfish last summer, didn't matter what I treated...salt, medication, water changes... Positive side I noticed a couple of Rainbow Shiner fry a month...

    700 litre - Boesemani-Stan. 😁

Can't quite get a decent picture of this aquarium, there is a reflection from the wall whichever angle I try. This is my tank no.2, running since 2012 and like the others not been running on co2 injection for some 4 years or so. Like the others it was run down for a couple of years, but it...

    300l Wapoga River

Didn't realise this one has been going on since 2014. I have three long term aquariums on the go, none have had co2 injection since end of 2016. This is the youngest. I guess these kind of planted aqaurims tend to have a wilder look to them, but then I dont tend to over manicure the plants.

"Fifty Shades of Green" - (1600 Litre Sanjarami)

I think there are about 9 in total red tail and red finned sharks. One is an albino. There are two chunky female rtbs who regularly square off against each other. There are no serious squabbles, but they do have a pecking order. Any chased are just to move out of the way, but relentless chases...

"Fifty Shades of Green" - (1600 Litre Sanjarami)

Thanks Ian, female red tail sharks kind of give their name some justice. Beautiful fish. I do have the two others going they are primarily single rainbowfish species aquariums. I will post an update soon. They are all in process of regeneration since neglecting them a bit last year.

"Fifty Shades of Green" - (1600 Litre Sanjarami)

Feels like it's regenerated a bit better. I also added some smaller varieties of anubias and bucephalandra.

(NO MORE) 2,000L High tech BEAST

Filip, do you not have any issue with condensation in your house? That is also of open water. I had to get acrylic covers made for big tank in the living room, although the smaller 700l in my hallway doesn't have any.

(NO MORE) 2,000L High tech BEAST

I have just seen this thread, I've not really been around for a couple of years, but... Wow! 😮 Is it fixed though? That kind of freaks me out. I have two acrylic tanks one running since May 2010 and the other sometime in 2012. I got them made though. I wouldn't trust myself making one that large. 😁

    Acrylic aquariums

There is at least one dedicated manufacture and a couple of others that can build acrylic tanks, but it is not their only business.

    Acrylic aquariums

This is an old post, but just my 2pence from somebody who has both, when you go large acrylic is far and away much lighter than glass. Two reasonably strong men could carry my 1,600 litre (empty ofcourse 😂) that would not have been possible if it was made of glass. As far scratches... fine...

Does lighting have to be synced with daylight hours?

Nope, you synch it to what suits you. My lights come on at 15:00 to 22:00 for the last decade.

    700 litre - Boesemani-Stan. 😁

Three and a half years too late, sorry I wasn't really on here for a while. They are fine, plants adapt to anything in the PAR range. Aesthetically speaking I quite liked them, you can adjust the colours manually. Eventually though (in the last year) I lost control of the light and the software...
