    CO2 Disaster

I got my Poret foam and Jetlifters from Swiss Tropicals (where you linked). I'm quite happy with both except postage costs from the US + customs changes + fees. I suggest trying our German friends instead https://www.garnelen-tom.de/zwerggarnelen-shop/HMF-Luftheber.The Aqua Mac airlifters look...

    CO2 Disaster

It's a slippery slope Marcel. My CO2Art dual stage regulator arrived today. I still need to get an FE, diffuser and CO2 tubing. I've got a ph probe knocking around somewhere but won't be surprised if I fork out for a ph controller next. Cheers, John

    CO2 Disaster

We may have gone slightly off topic from CO2Art's dual stage regulator! I've got one in the post heading towards me for my first attempt at a high tech tank so was hoping to confirm that their bad batch of dual stage regulators from January 2016 was a one off. To continue(off-topic!), I am...

Cheeky blighters - sudanese cardinals attacking shrimp

What's a Sudanese Cardinal? Never heard of them before. Cardinal Tetras can be surprisingly aggressive against cherry shrimp when the gang mentality takes over. Of course very heavy planting helps give shrimp cover to dive into when harassed.

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

Many thanks NeilW, can see that glassware makes a huge difference in a small tank after looking at SteveUK's journal. Might also seriously consider going down the fire extinguisher CO2 route for one of the tanks. My clown killis would certainly benefit from the lower ph as well.

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

A litre a week is not too bad. Definitely can live with that although keeping the water soft might be awkward (so the clown killis might breed). I don't have my own RO unit and think there is a limit how long one can store RO water. Thanks. Folk at Aqua Essentials said the same when I called...

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

Hehe, thought this might be a well trodden path. Dread cleaning off the excess silicon - happy to spend the time but doubt my dexterity with a stanley knife :jawdrop The aquadistri light looks very nice. It's also good to hear your Resun CY20 has thus far been alright. I suppose it's next to...

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

I've got Substrat Pro in my 180l's filter which I'll try to use on the AE optiwhites' filters so hope the tanks will settle down fast. Will, of course, use the tank water from my 180l. Have also asked my local Maidenhead Aquatics to get down some black Colombo Florabase, from what others have...

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

Aquael Shrimp tanks certainly do look good based on the online pics. However I believe I read (sorry can't find the source again) that the filter that comes with the tank is not quite up to the task.

    Aquael Shrimp tanks

Just bought a couple of AE optiwhites a few minutes ago! Great many thanks to all who gave feedback on these tanks. @LondonDragon : The IKEA light and Niagra filter are very decent options. Thanks. I especially like the pendant light type effect with the IKEA light not being fixed to the tank...
