    Algae on Christmas Moss

Yes, the growth of the algae has slowed, and the SAEs have made a dent in the algae growing on some of the leaves and hardscape. I think I will try a total replant in about a month though to really try to kick it out.

    Algae on Christmas Moss

Yes, I have a few amano shrimp (I think 5, but it's hard to count them), and a population of cherry shrimp. I have just bought some Siamese Algae Eaters to deal with the other algae, and I have also reduced light, increased CO2 as much as I dare and I have stopped liquid carbon dosing.

    Algae on Christmas Moss

Someone who knows more than me may be able to confirm, but it looks a lot like the algae in my tank which I think is Rhizoclonium. I am currently having a lot of problems removing it. Like you, it started on a moss culture. I try to physically remove as much as I can as often as I can. Rob

    Severe cyanobacteria outbreak.

Yes, very understandable, and my initial intention too. I guess I have an earlier breaking point than you! It was a very similar situation, I'd remove it all by hand and within 24 hours it would be like I hadn't touched it. I didn't take the decision lightly, but I'm glad I did it. I'd tried...

Filament algae and general algae problem

Hi all, thanks so much for the replies! OK, I will reduce light to 60%, stop liquid carbon dosing (already done these two), physically remove as much as I can, clean and replenish both drop checkers following your advice (I think they were dry, but obviously any salt that gets in will act as a...

    Severe cyanobacteria outbreak.

I have had this problem recently and I used Ultralife Blue Green Slime Stain Remover (found on eBay for about £12). I put in an air curtain at the same time during treatment. No water change for a week, and then a couple of 80% changes and it all went. Rob

Filament algae and general algae problem

Hi all, First, thank you for reading this, and I really appreciate any suggestions you have. I have read a lot of the pinned posts about algae, and I am at a little bit of a loss as to what my problem is and what to try next to solve it. Here's hoping one of you can easily identify it! I have...

    Evolution Aqua skimmer pipework problem

Thanks. It has continued to be a problem. The filter ended up about half-filled with gas, which it periodically expelled, but not faster than the rate it accumulated it. I have ended up putting the original Eheim inlet pipe on the filter again, hopefully as a temporary measure until I have time...

    Evolution Aqua skimmer pipework problem

Ah, no, maybe that was it! I have just adjusted it now and it seems to be working much better, and on full power. Thanks for the tip :) Rob

    Evolution Aqua skimmer pipework problem

Hi all, I have a 100 litre tank with an Eheim Pro 4 250 filter. I have recently installed the 16 mm glass lily pipes form Evolution Aqua. The inlet is the surface skimmer inlet. The problem is if i have the filter on full power, the inlet skimmer part draws in a lot of air into the filter...

    Tips on planting Eleocharis acicularis

Hi all, I made my first planted tank in nearly 12 years yesterday. I have attached a photo of it just after I had finished filling it up. My Eleocharis acicularis keeps floating up. I bought the tissue culture pots, but I just cannot bury the roots all of plants! when single plants come off...

    Advice on new CO2 system

I’m not going to be able to make to Aquarium Gardens this weekend, but hopefully in a couple of weeks time. Gives me time to do a bit more research and also work out if I want anything else! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
