Did you leave any margins for error in the cutting? I've just done a 3d model in sketchup but its going to be quite acurate really :)

I would say they are doing a little better than the t8's, but hard to tell yet. I'm re-doing the tank at the moment so will know more over the next few weeks. They are about 10cm from the water ish.

There in anyway. I bought 2 grobeam 500's and replaced the t8's last night. Very bright indeed. The fish weren't too happy but have calmed down now. Will see what they do in the future as to plan growth.

Yeah, I looked at those. I would need to look into the angles it beams at as I don't really want to hang it above the tank (currently it rests on the tank). Another option is the AquaFX but I can't find many people talking about them, which makes me think they are not that good.

Would help, Its a compact T5, 11w I think its rated at (the ones that bend back on themselves) so its not mega powerful. CO2 is optional, but I would be using fermentation on it since its not mega bright. Filter is a U3 interal filter

Right, since my puffer died I need to redo the scape but I need some help on plants. Substrate is going to be Oliver Knott stuff (works well in my other tank) but I need some help on plants for this. I want a more jungle style since it will have puffers in again, there has to be cover for them...

Nope, was just him until he got settled and I could make sure he was fine. Am thinking he dug into the sand and below the sand is aqua soil amazonia and its leeched a load of amonia into the water. Will strip the tank bare and start again me thinks, since i've set it up I understand a lot more...
