Fert Dosing.

Hi everyone, I have a vision 260 with discus and have recently added some plants. I dose the tank with pro-fito and easy-carbo. I do not use Co2 at present and have my lights on for 8hrs, though these are just T8 lights with reflectors. My plants seem to grow ok but then when they are getting a fair size the big leaves die off. What is the solution to this and also is the above ferts and lighting ok?

they probably isnt enough nutrients being dosed to support the extra growth of larger leaves. You can try raising the frequency of the dose, and/ or the volume.

You need to add some Nitrogen / phosphates - Easylife do Nitro / Fosfo which are Macro Fertz, quantities of fertz to be added is on the bottles - you have have to increase your dosage as dosage on the bottles are only a guide line as per Arron surgested. Profito is a trace mix - which is required as well Inc. your easy carbo.

Thanks very much guys, will order the additional fertilisers soon-also is 8 hrs enough for lights to be on??
Also could you please suggest a few plants likely to do well with this set-up in an aquarium which is at 28 deg.?

how big is your tank (tank dimension) and how many watt is your light?

Shadow-My 2 light tubes are 42 inches long and 38 watt each with reflectors. My tank is a juwel vision 260-It is 121cm x 46cm x62cm.
