Shrimp for years then 3 new cherries die on filter pipe?

I had zillions of shrimp in my old scape, enough that they were worse than snails to be honest. I never had a single one get stuck to the lily pipe intake (to filter), which is cut to prevent shrimps being caught. Put 6 cherry shrimp in 3 weeks ago and within the past fortnight 3 of them have got stuck on the pipe overnight and died...

Not overly small shrimp either, so is it me or do I have some stupid shrimp?

sounds strange. is there a chance that they have died and the inflow has just caught them?

mine sit on the inlet to clean now and then. not really struggling to get away.

Unless you have mega flow they should not get caught, on my Rio 125 I have a Koralia 1 pump which is rated 1500lph and sometimes I see cherries on it and then just swim away.

The same thing happen to me . New lilly pipes and 2 shrimps have got stuck on the pipe and died.
