im i right in assuming that if i was to setup a tank using jbl manando as a substrate, plant & dose with full EI that the manando will absorb all the excess ferts from the water column & i would end up with a nutrient rich substrate through time?
Many people seem to have used it to good effesct but some have reported a change in water parameters when using it, I think if I remember rightly a rise in PH and GH. Also many have commented on how light the Manando is and its tendancy to move around in areas of high flow, but check out the other threads discussing "manando" on this forum for more info.
Also well worth checking out is the DIY Akadama substrate which works in a similar manner with a high CEC rate and a very good cost effective alternative.
