Hi,

I`m in the process of buying another co2 setup for a new tank. I have been looking about but quite confused with various types of regulators about and need to get something on a tight budget fairly quickly (plants are arriving soon). I`d like to know...

Can i use CO2/Argon regulators, i see alot about for home beer making, welding etc ?

Are their different rated regulators and cylinders? I have seen 300 bar and 2000 bar?

I have seen the following, are they ok to use with an FE?

Cheers,

I have the one pauld linked to above and it's fine, been using it for about a year now.

i'm using same one as pauld, very happy with it. been running about 2 months now.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies, the `UP` branded one looks like a good option, especially when weighing up the costs buying it separately (solenoid would be £40 on it`s own). Fingers crossed my pots of HC don`t die before i get the co2 setup, for now they are sat in a 4ft planted tank but it`s not looking good :(

Cheers,

search ebay the company that supply up have a uk shop took 4 days from payment to delivery still charged £15 p&p though .

yes, thats where i bought mine. it's the same company, but like a uk arm. it was worth the extra couple of pounds not to wait 2 weeks........here it is..........http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CO2-Regulator-Dua ... plies_Fish

but if you are in no rush and want to save a few pounds.....http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dual-Gauge-CO2-Re ... plies_Fish

but i would not buy from here (AAS) as i've read a few problem stories, though some say they are fine ....http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aquarium-Dual-Gau ... plies_Fish

hope this helps

Perfect, thanks for the UK link, i think it`ll be the one to get and i can get this tank up and running asap :)

Now just to figure out the scape, that`ll take me longer than waiting for the reg to arrive!

Cheers,

If you want save your HC, grow it above the surface temporarily. Plenty of CO2 up there ;) . After all, that's how it probably started life.
The leaf form may change a bit but that should return to normal once you plant it with your co2 up and running.

Hi,

Ah ok, i have them still in the original rockwool pots, I have put them in a hatchery (with lid on as i swear the Red Tail Botias were having lunch) and they were just below the surface last night but i`m sure today they looked paler so i moved them midway down. Do you mean submerged and leaves exposed?

Cheers,
