Hello,

Last night I got in late and I noticed that all my cardinals had lost their red. The blue stripe was fine but the red patch was gone leaving a translucent body. This morning however they were all red again. Anything to be worried about. I have Co2 on 24/7. Might it be a reaction to higher levels of Co2 during lights off. Their behavior was normal and they've never had a problem with Co2. They never gasp at the surface even if some other species have done. Any thoughts? Cheers,

Daniel

if my tank is the dark in a dark room and turn the lights on all the fish look startled and pale.
They soon recover its just that they are frightened

Exactly what andyh says. Even if the lights go out and i turn then lights on a few minutes later their colours fade out alot.

Probably nothing wrong with them.
