I've just got some Salts containing 17.4% MgSO4, 19.5% Citric Acid, and 22.6% Na Bicarb. First of all, is this Epsom Salts? I'm looking into it for the Mg as suggested in my journal, and I thought I might as well try it. Do the other ingredients matter or adversely affect anything? As far as I can tell, it would just up the hardness.

Secondly, can anyone confirm my maths for me?
180g of this powder in 250ml of water is the solution I came to. This solution, according to the calculations would give me roughly 5ppm MgSO4 when 1ml is dosed per 25l.

Cheers,
Tom

I wouldn't put that into the aquarium, I think it contains more than the elements listed there ... try and find some pure Epsom salts (MgSO4).
