Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping'

Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone can help me here - I have some Tropica Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping' moss coming tomorrow, however my redmoor wood that it is to be attached to is still in soak in a tub in my shed, as I am waiting for it to sink (could be another week) What is the best way to keep my moss alive and healthy for the next week?

I believe it comes in a small tub from Tropica, can any of you advise me of how to preserve it please? as I do not want it to start dying off before I can get it attached to the wood and get it into my tank.

You could probably just leave it in a tub on the windowsil (in water). I think Mark Evans has a moss farm by a window somewhere...

If the moss is fresh in the box you can leave it for a week without any problem in the original packaging. Just do not open that. These mosses stays very healthy in the original box for weeks in the shops. At least the Tropica ones

So is it best to attach this to my redmoor wood very thinly and let it spread or can bigger clumps be tied on?

I read a thread here a while ago that suggests hacking moss up into smaller pieces is best to encourage more fresh shoots to grow out. Not sure if that was general advice for all mosses though.

thin is better.
chopping up applies to weeping moss
