How often do you clean your filter?

I do mine once every 3 weeks, is this enough?

do the internal filters on all 3 tanks weekly or whenever I notice flow rate dropping do the external filter once a month or again when I notice flow rate has dropped.

I think it depends upon the type and size of your filter and your bio load. I do the internal on my 37 litre every week.

I clean my fx5 every 3 months but have a relatively small stocking

Edit: I rinse the outer sponges in tank water and leave the bio rings as they are. I also replace the filter floss I put around the outside of my sponges every 3 months too.

Nah, I give it a rinse in tank water I've just removed from the water change.
