I am a bit confused: Is hydrocotyle sibthorpioides the same as hydrocotyle sp. "Japan"?

If not, which is the smallest and stays lower?

I believe these are separate species.
Japan stays quite low if trimmed aggressively:

It grows fast under proper lightning and CO2, from this:

I bought a Hydrocotyle named "Hydrocotyle tripartita" from Germany, perhaps it is the same as Hydrocotyle sp. Japan.
