Hi,

Just started my tank on Monday night, It's 180l 60cm deep tank, 4x 24w life GLO T5, tropica substrate and quarts gravel, eheim 2071 canister filter, CO2 as just started to be OK now, i run the light for 4 hours only and planted a little bit...
Now, My water turned cloudy, i thought it was bacterial bloom but i realised today that there was some brown thing on my plants and think it's diatom...
I have turned on my UV (vecton UV8) and did a 20l water change...
Will it solve itself soon (and how soon?) or is there anything else to do ?
Thank you

Diatoms and white cloud are both consistent with a new tank starting to develop bacteria. The diatoms and bacteria both feed off the ammonia in new systems, and the white cloud is likely to be the bacteria beginning to multiply. Best bet is to wait for it to clear - it won't take too long.

Thanks! I'll just sit and wait then...
