From CO² to Non CO²

I have decided to discontinue using CO². Any tips for the transition would be welcome. I am using Akadama substrate, has anyone else been successful with the transition using Akadama?

I have been doing weekly 50% water changes so should I stop this immediately or reduce the frequency gradually?

First thing to do is lower your light intensity. I would keep dosing and doing your water changes as normal and slowly wind back the co2. Substrate shouldnt matter as long as you keep up the water column dosing
