Lights out!

Wasn't sure where to put this, since it's not a lighting specific question.

My CO2 diffusion method has gone kaput, and I don't have any effective means of backup. I've ordered a Fluval diffuser and it is due to arrive Tuesday. Am I ok to leave the lights off to prevent inevitable algae growth from lack of CO2?

Should be fine to leave lights off, do you have liquid carbon ? This could be used to supplement the tank or even daily water changes to keep on top of issues if they are practical.

I've considered both, but I have rather bright lights and liquid carbon just wouldn't cut it. If the plants will be ok, theres no point risking an algae bloom.

Plants should be fine, I'd be tempted to carry out some water changes just to cover all bases.

Why not just feed the gas into the filter?

I can't get a small enough bubble from the airstone, it just causes cavitation, and I'm not 100% on the consistency of the method. I will be putting the new diffuser below the filter intake, however.

Lights out will be fine. Some of us do the occasional blackouts for a week to combat algae so you'll be fine.
