So I have been playing with a 60P for a few months. It's been through a few phases, but it's been good fun. I have another 60cm cube which is proving far trickier to scape.

I originally wanted this tank to be a single plant iwagumi, but due to the Hairgrass mysteriously dying back, I changed my mind.

The tank

I started playing with some ideas.

Then I finally decided on the hardscape...

Then she was planted...

After a while the Hairgrass started dying back. I think this was the best pic I managed to get.

So in frustration I ripped up the Hairgrass and decided on the same scape, but with different plants. So the replanting took place...

I used the following plants:

HC
Staurogyne repens
Crypt parva
Crypt pigmea
Dwarf Hairgrass
Rotala wallichii
Rotala macrandra green

This is what it looks like as of a few weeks ago.

I replaced the macrandra green with L. arcuata and I added some hydrocotyl tripartita.

Any constructive criticism would be most appreciated.

Thanks! Yes, that is probably my best HC carpet ever!

I've tried glosso, UG, marsilea, Hairgrass, etc... HC is still my favorite foreground carpet plant.

Fauna:
8 orange endlers,
9 ember tetras,
2 ottocinclus and
3 Amano shrimp.

i like the look of that a lot

Thanks guys! Much appreciated.

I'm injecting 2bps.

These were just a couple of pics while the new scape was growing in...

I still need to decide on a background for this tank... I'm thinking about a white background. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hmmmm... Grey? I'm going to give that a shot.

Hey Sean

Very nice - I'm going to follies this closely as I'm about to embark on a 60p and I'm looking for inspiration.

Where did you get the Aquasky from? Still struggling to source a reasonably priced pretty light!

Cheers

Phil

Hey Phil

I imported the Aquasky. I must admit, it is quite an impressive little light. It's the 602. It's extremely bright and it seems to grow everything very well. And compact.

The 60P is my favorite tank size at the moment. So easy to maintain.

Thanks for the compliment!

Sean

Frosted background? Now there's an idea! I will see what I can find! Thanks for the idea Fish Fodder!!
