Hey all,
I'm in the process of growing out my first planted aquascape. I currently have two pieces of Dragonstone, a nicely developing carpet of Eleocharis sp. mini and some Alternanthera Reineckii mini. I initially attempted this using only liquid carbon and a tropica plant growth set. After a couple weeks the Alternathera started to melt, and i realized that I would need a better source of carbon, so i added a 2kg fire extinguisher. After less than two weeks the carpet has really started to fill out and the Alternanthera has recovered and is turning more red by the day. My question is, the rear right corner of the aquarium is currently bare and i need something to fill it. However, it's behind the main filter outlet, so has the least amount of Co2(i think) and also is slightly shadowed by the Dragonstone. Any tips on what would look nice here? I'm pretty new to plants, so my knowledge is limited.
Tank is 27 litres, has an ADA aquasoil powder, with Tropica plant growth substrate underneath, I'm dosing 1ml of easy carbo a day and two squirts of Tropica specialised a week. Lights are 16w t5s, although there is a third bulb if i want to increase it to 24w.
At the moment, there's only a small colony of cherry shrimp in the tank to help me deal with some algae.
Thanks,
James
