Hi all.
I recently took my old scape apart, which had been a bit of a pet project of mine.
It was my first ever tank, so naturally I took as many pictures of it as you would your first born. I just never got around to posting any of them here and I will now rectify that grave mistake.
First off, plant list:
Eleocharis `mini´ (1-2-grow)
Ammania `bonsai´ (1-2-grow)
Ludwigia sp.
Murdannia keisak
Taxiphyllum sp. `Flame´ (1-2-grow)
Hemianthus callitrichoides `Cuba´
Ranunculus inundatus (later removed due to space issues)
Pogostemon helferi (later removed due to space issues)
Week one and two.
Your basic boring stuff. Nothing really happened and I was, at this point, not adding CO2 in any form.
I had a few `Support Plants´ to soak any excess nutrients.
And as an extra `help´ I had added a fair amount of water from a well established tank to boost bacterial growth.
Week three and four.
As you can see I got impatient and added more Eleocharis `mini´. I also started adding CO2 at this point and therefore planted my HC in by the `steps´.
Week five and six.
My Ludwigia was finally getting a bit of colour, clashing horribly with my red Platy (what's a girl to do?)
Week seven and eight.
As you can see it was a bit up and down with my Murdannia, as they grow like a weed. But having too much of a plant is really a luxury problem (or so I'm told).
Week 9 + a FTS of week 9.
From here on out it was really mostly maintenance. Below is a few shots from different angles.
The picture below was my inspiration. I always enjoyed going to the botanical garden as a kid, running around and getting lost on the stone steps and winding trails.
If you want to know more about all the boring technical stuff, feel free to ask.
