Plant identification?

I have recently re vamped my tank and someone local to me was having a trim in his tank and I brought some cuttings off him, the plants was cabomba, a few ferns, as other odds and sods,
Within the selection he gave me a couple of cuttings from a red plant he has.
But....no one seems to know what plant it is, it's even got some of the local people that know their plants confused
Maybe some form of crypt?

Looks to be a stem, not a rosette or fleshy rooted Tuberous plant.

Seems to be a nice cutting so far, the lower leaf isn't in top condition as it can out a rather low tech tank with standard lights(t8?) no co2 so hoping things will improve with my setup
