So when I joined the forum I had a measley fluval edge that had a couple of plants in it. after reading on here I bought myself a cheap second hand tank which is a boyu 48 litre

Im going low tech with both tanks so room for errors and learning really I stripped my edge of its vallisneria, elodea and anubias nana.

Im using roman gravel and sourced rocks from the beach

And after adding the sand rocks and a peice of redmoor root with anubias nana attached

I flooded the tank this morning and added vallisneria and elodea. im doing a fishless cycle using some media out of my old tank will take pictures later as its very cloudy at the mo and will add dwarf hairgrass to the right I reckon.

With the edge ive only kept the base and tank added the gravel and rocks and will start this up somtime in september.

You will want to get your plants in there as soon as possible to try and prevent any algae growth getting started. Make sure you plant quite heavily from the start.

It has 6 ember tetras and 3 neons
Plants are amazon sword, dwarf hairgrass, some very small peices of twisted val amazon frogbit and Christmas moss.

I have a touch of blue/green Algea but once I put the lighting down its clearing up slowly.
