Hey there fellow aquascapers and hello from Hungary! :)
My name is Laci and I live in Gyál, near to Budapest with my SO and our son.
My english skills are really bad, but i want to polish it, so i decided to write a journal on this forum. So feel free to correct me if i write stupid things! :)

Aaaand to get to the point here is my new nano tank! It will be a shrimp only aquarium with neocaridina davidii black sakura and maybe some algae eater snails. Here are the specs:
Aquaruim: 42x29x20 (cm) ~ 24 Litres (I saved it from the garbage at a house clearance, it was a hamster cage maybe :D)
Lighting: IKEA desk lamp with 11W 6500K PC bulb
Filtration: 280 L/h internal filter with sponge and spray bar
Substrate: reused Aquatic Nature Shrimp Soil
Decoration: river sand from Fehérvárcsurgó, (green) granite rocks, red moor
Fertilization: Dr. Garden Micro combi
Co2: Liqui carbo (liquid stuff like easy carbo but it contains K too)
Vater: tap water (~20 Gh ) with seachem prime

Flora: microsorum pteropus trident, anubias nana petite, fissidens fontanus, hemianthus micranthemoides

Fauna: nothing yet, but i want black sakura shrimp and some algae eater snails

I lifted (is that term correct?) the substrate with a granite rock and some lava rock grit.

And the final hardscape. I had to take out some roots because they didn't sink yet.

The microsorum and the anubias is in!

Fully planted and ready to fill it with water.

And with water! A bit opalescent because of the dust and the bacteria, it needs a few days and water changes. :)

I hope it will grow nice ang algae free and full with shrimps!
Thanks for reading!

hali, jó lett,
nem is találkoztam ezzel az akival akvakertészen, de biztos csak vak voltam :)

What great looking scape! East Europeans certainly have an eye for this hobby. What's the deal with that??

Perfect tank dimensions too. I have a mini m sized tank, and I have to lower the water level to get nice 'wide-angle' proportions.

I hope your SO doesn't mind you using her cross-stitch material for aquascaping. And what's the wine bottle for? Is it frozen to cool the tank down?

Thank you Dantrasy! I really like the dimensions of this tank too, though I need to find a good angle with the camera for a nice deep perspective.
Oh and I am a Central European! :D (Just kidding! :D)
We have Green Aqua here in Hungary, they are organising great workshops and contests to learn aquascaping. In the past years I learnt a lot from them (Viktor Lantos and Balázs Farkas) and we have the last year's AGA winner too (Gábor Veréb) he is a wery nice person too with a great knowledge.

Wine bottle
Hmmm Tokaji Aszu ?:D
Nope. I dont like aszú. :p It is from Eger wine region and it was rosé, one of my favourite. I like to drink it as a sport fröcss (spritzer). ;)

The tank is two weeks "old". I have the normal diatoms attack but the plants are looks healthy so I didn't panic... yet. :D I hope that the tank is maturing and the diatoms will pass, but maybe I have to upgrade the lighting. Time will answer this question. I planted a little bush of HM behind the tree and it comes with a few snails with it so at this time they are the fauna of the aquarium. :D

Here are some blurry shots from yesterday:

Just a quick update:

I have some trouble:

- diatoms+hair algae (low light plus the super hot hungarian summer)
- nematode and hydra attack
So i have some work to do. :D

Aaand a few shots after today's maintenance:
