I enjoyed watching the ADA demo at TGM last Friday with specific regards to setting up the rock formation and I think I understand the basis of the reasoning behind it.
But how is the "ADA" style (or what you would call it?!) for using wood within a tank so enhance the scape of it?
What are the principles for this?
Is it similar to the main rock, supporting rock etc?

from what i can see from amano's work, there seems to be no rules for the stone work.IMO if the rock work was too "formed" it would detract from the wood placement.

chuck it in and chance it  works for me

I think it depends on what style you're aiming for. i.e. island, etc

Look at George's articles, which are pinned to the Aquascaping forum. I think there's a good paragraph or two in one of those articles on wood/rock/whatever placement.
