Hi All,
I have a friend who set up a planted tank and hes gotten me into it! I know very little about this art (just what hes showed me), so would appreciate any and all advice possible.

The tank I am planning is a low tech (no co2) tropical tank with some guppies, danios and shrimp. Nothing too fancy.

I am pretty set on the ADA 60p (60cm x 30cm x 36cm), and an Ehiem canister filter. The rest I am very much in research mode still. But I would like driftwood, some sand (beach style tank) and a few plants. I am going to head to the Low tech section of the forum and do some reading.

Happy to join you guys!

Hi and welcome.
Your plans sound fine, low-energy is always the best place to cut your teeth, IMO. Check out the tutorials section as well.
Also give starting a journal some thought, it's a great place to ask for, and get advice.
