Just setup my first nano tank with the bit I had left over from my Trigon 350 build.

Tank - Aqua One Aquanano 55 litre tank
Filter - Aqua One Aquis 500 with acrylic lily pipes
Light - Aqua One Aquanano LED light with added blue LEDs
Substrate - Cal Aqua Labs Green Base with Black Earth Premium ADA La Plata sand
Hardscape - Seiryu stone, Redmoor and driftwood

After a few days playing around with different scapes I went with this one.

Hi David, Stunning little scape Fab rock work congratulations
Thanks, took me a while trying to decide on the layout then when I stopped thinking about it and just started adding the rocks it just seem to fall into place.

Really nice use of the space! How's about a plant list

?

Here's the plant List -

Eleocharis sp. 'Mini'
Eleocharis Parvula
Hemianthus Callitrichoides 'Cuba'
Vesicularia ferriei
Staurogyne Repens
Bucephalandra sp. 'Broad Wavy'
Pogostemon Stellatus
Pogostemon Helferi
Micranthemum ‘Monte Carlo’

I'm dosing with 1ml of Easy-carbo every day, and will be starting using the Tropica Premium and Tropica Specialised ferts next week.

I've got a pot of Riccia but am not 100% sure the best way to use it. I've got an old piece of mesh which I was going to try tying some too, but am also considering getting some riccia stone.

I'm quite surprised by the growth too. I've been dosing with 1ml of Easy carbo since day 1 but only started using the tropica ferts a week ago and that was at half dosage. My thoughts are the Cal Aqua Labs Green Base with Black Earth Premium is a great combo.

I'll be looking to do some trimming next weekend :)

Really coming together nicely! Have you started with ferts yet? I was also wondering why the water level is where it is i.e. it looks like it's a couple of inches below the rim?

Great growth too...is that with the stock lighting? and a few blue added led?
I upgraded to a chihiros A series. It's a really nice light :)

Started last week with Tropica Ferts. Would like to put the water level up but it's a bit too risky with my 3yr old son running around ;)

Oops, my bad! Missed that first sentence... but another question - why is having the tank filled to the top not a good idea with a little one about? I would have thought the heavier the better & less of a tipping risk!

If it was on a solid floor it wouldn't be a problem but its on thick pile carpet and an even thicker cushion underlay. Not the best floor to have a tank sitting on

The temperature in my room fluctuates especially in winter so to keep it at 24 degrees for the CRBs it's best to have the heater.

My CRBs seem happy in my tank but haven't started breeding yet. When I checked the TDS it was 420! I decided to get an RO filter and found a cheap one on ebay which arrived earlier this week. I've plumbed it in now and done a 50% water change with remineralised RO water (150tds), my tank water is now 270. I'm going to do another 50% water change in a few days to get it down to 180 tds.

Here's my RO filter and HMA filter

Also fitted my lily outlet pipe today and have done a tank clean and pruning session

It's been just over 2 months since I planted the tank and I've got to say I'm really impressed with the Cal Aqua Labs Green Base with Black Earth Premium substrates I'm getting really good plant growth. I'm not using pressurised CO2 but I am dosing 1ml of Easy carbo everyday and using Tropica ferts once a week, and I upgraded the light to chihiros A series. All in this combo is working really well for me.
