Importing a light from USA to UK

I think it's 20% import tax on the cost of the item AND the shipping cost !.
If it comes by Royal Mail/Parcelforce,you'll only pay if it gets checked at customs.
DHL etc normally contact you for payment before it leaves the USA.
That's just from my experience ;).

Only ship with a company that will reveal brokerage fees upfront (don't fall for the "it depends/varies" line, if the shipper has any experience they will be able to provide very accurate estimates, also many have a set fee) - brokerage fee has nothing to do with import fee/tariff set by government customs, depending on location it may be feasible/preferable to do your own "clearing" (that's what "brokerage" is about).

As I recall there are a few that have imported the Curent USA satellite lights
- I'd try to source something locally, unless there is something very unique about the lights you're considering
