Hello all,
I have this plant I don't know what it is exactly, but has a long stem which looks like it used to be a flower. When I got it there were no leaves at the end of the stem but now several leaves have grown as you may see in the picture.

My question is, can I cut just off the stem and plant it?

Thank you!

The plant is an echinodorus or Amazon sword species. I would leave the plantlet attached but peg it down the roots will then develop and anchor the plant. Or you can leave it to develop longer roots and then snip it from the stem. Hope this helps

Thanks AndyOx
So I should look for roots coming out of the plantlet?
Thank you

They're already there, just underneath the plantlet, you can simply allow them some time and the roots will grow fine
