Rice in Aquarium?

Hello :D does anyone know about the possibility of growing rice in the aquarium? :?:
I'd assume that it would be possible in an open top aquarium and have read that although it is an annual in the tropics it is possible to survive as a perenial.

I've seen Wildwoods have Cambodian Rice fish and I would like to try and do a biotope tank with these fish and rice but knowing nothing about the cultivation of rice and having not seen it done before I'm hoping someone might be able to help out?

Any advice or info would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Great idea!!

I'd guess you'd need an open topped tank and a lot of light.

Have you tried just googling "growing rice"?

To grow rice you need to start with rice that still has the husk on. This is scattered in soil, and germinates. Once it's germinated and grown into a stem, the stems are then uprooted and planted into paddy fields with equal spacing to allow for each plant to grow evenly. The paddy field is kept as wet as possible.

Hope that helps.
