Soil Substrate & Tibee ?

I don't know from experience but from what I've read they prefer a softer ph than other shrimp so the peat and soil may be preferable

Well maybe I do have some experience, I keep crystal reds in a Blackwater tank on eco-complete around 5ph at room temperature. O know bee shrimp and crs like it soft. Ive got an emersed bed of sphagnum moss, pothos, and red mangrove really sucking up nutrients though so although the shrimp don't appear to be breeding heavily they are very much alive. Here's a photo of the tank

I think the main thing is to provide a pile of rocks for them to congregate and feel secure. Most of those specialty substrates are a coarser grade to provide plenty of nooks and crannies so where you're using sand a nice rock pile should be all they need. Smaller river stones or even lava rock
