Hello everyone
The time come to share my first attempt for a low tech setup.
Tank Betta Duo from Aqua One modified with fitted spray bar for better circulation.
Substrate :Tropica Plant Grow topped with black gravel(2-3mm)
Hardscape:Redmoor root and Ada seiryu stone
Lighting :Arcadia strech led 11w for 4,5 hours a day as a start.
Plants:Microsorum petite
Monte carlo
Staurogine repens
Dwarf lobelia
Pogostemon helferi
Cryptocoryne costata
Cryptocoryne wendtii green
Cryptocoryne albida brown
Eleocharis parvula
Filter media is matured from previous setup just rinsed and hopefully will cycle the tank faster.

Hello everyone
Its time for a little update on the development of the tank.Havent done any pics as not much happening being a low tech. There are few start up issues as slime on the roots which going trough its final stage and dissappearing slowly. Some melt on the crypts but overal is doing well. There is a bit of new grouth on all plants especially MC creeping nicely on bottom.Adjusted the photo period to 2 hours in morning(9-11) and 4,5 hours in evening (17-21:30).Changing 30% water per week after lights out.Adjusted the spray bar just over the surface and see a lil bubbles of air going in the water.Dosing Tropica Specialised fertiliser -1ml per week as not much stock in it yet.Strugling to keep the amano shrimp in.Keep escaping in the filter.Added 2 otos for now too.No visible algae yet.Keep my fingers crossed will stay that way when the 2 fighters go in
Thanks for reading

Hello everyone.
Its been a while since my last update.
There are few changes with the tank compared to what I had in mind.It was originally going to be a low tech setup but due to the strech led being too bright i had to start dosing Easycarbo,60% weekly water change and full EI as started to get some algae issues.I eventually gave up on the two fighters idea as thank volume is too small for them in my opinion and there is far too much waste to deal with.Thinking to get some good grade Sakura red shrimp instead after removing the devider in a month or two .
Here is a not very good phone pic of the tank and its current state .

I understand that this is an old thread. Do you still have this tank? I'm interested in seeing close ups of the costata and albida brown to see the difference between the two.

Hi
Yes it is still running but the crypts are not in it.The crostata is in other tank and the albida brown is in propagator as after 2 years I still have the 4 sttems that I bought originally. Will try to get some pics If I can as tanks a jungles atm. They both grow low tech but not willing to propagate.

Hi
I like them both but the albida is smaller and has more interesting colour for me.
The tips of costata will turn orange under high light and co2 wich I dont have so is just green for me.
Here are few google images

Albida with me grows no more than 8-10cm
Costata grows to about 15 ish.
I will recommend the albida anyday.

Here some pics of mine. The albida is a week of being replanted.

It rarely gets that red in my tanks lol

As I said the Costata is just green for me and taller than the albida
