So after my post yesterday asking about rotala I've discovered ludwigia palustria. What would people reccomend for me to replace my java fern with? Just started with CO2 injection and have a fluval nano plant LED.

Wanting something to create a bushy background in the corner, and would obviously like some striking red colour in the tank

Ludwigia palustris is really a very easy plant to grow in aquaria. The better conditions concerning light and nutrients (CO2 being a nutrient) the better coloration and branching. At its best it can become allmost beat-red.
So it is all up to your taste of leafshape and -size and what kind of "red" you want........
