Nearly at the point of giving up - BBA and green algae

You can still have success with a tank full of only slow growers and there's a lot of tanks in the journals section that are doing this but you just need to adjust the lighting accordingly, photoperiod is only one part of it but I find overall intensity to be the main factor in it

Whether you pick up fast growers or not get the light ramped right down as a starting point and you'll start seeing things turn a corner

I'm battling a bit of BBA at the minute as well and trying to find the cause, I'm upping my filter cleaning and water changes to see if waste build up is the root cause

You can reduce light by simply putting some tape to cover it up. Don't overthink it too much.

Is the algae type GDA or GSA?
