Still glues up your wood but at least it’s easy

Can you drop the water level for a pseudo DS method with the riccardia? (fast & easy & maintains the wood appearance)

(there’s some more detailed footage of the riccardia painting somewhere - perhaps Jurijs FB page or Instagram video - sorry I don’t recall, I followed the (live) updates back when the tank was started)

Hi all,

I have had my thoughts about moss recently. More likely, as suggested above, riccardia.

But the struggle would be to plant it on that wood.. Any suggestions? I think there are only 2 ways - to try to be smart and tie it with fishing line or just go superglue. The 1st one might be a tricky one, the second will leave marks on the tree and messy to attach..

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance ;)

Riccardia goes well with superglue, just use very tiny bits of glue. Riccardia will spread and cover the white marks from glue in 1-2 months and then it will attach itself to the Wood. :)

Also,

I have introduced the following live stock:
A shoal of 12 Ember Tetras
2 pairs of German Blue Rams, juvelines
5 Otocinclus
2 Amano shrimps
5 Nerite snails
3 Cherry shrimps (bloody mary grade)

Least 2 are just a cleaning squad,
1st 2 were already tested in one of my scapes before (Colisia Vallem) few years ago as a great match in colours, decided to go again.

Another WC today done. Still on track with everything.

Moss added (riccardia).. looks a bit ugly, because of the super glue, but I hope it will start to spread and then I can form it the way I would like to.

+increased photo period from 5 to 5.5 hours (maybe too early?)

Few photos attached:

Got a chance to tidy up under the hood contents. It is always a tricky one in small size aquarium cup-board as you are quite limited in space with all your gadgets

A quick one, plants start to pearl every evening. Getting there with my balance

Still on 50% wc every third day and increased dosage of micro and macro feom 10 to 15mil daily

Does it work well in your opinion

Cheers
Jay

Does the job pretty well. I have 1/3rd of it loaded with plastic balls floating free under the flow and one layer of sponge. Co2 catches up under the sponge and plastic balls and dissolves fairly well. I have used this approach for years and I find it very good.

In the e video above I have co2 running with approximately 4bps, you see no mist in closer shots.
