As the title can any tell me what these stems are I've just been given 4 different lots

2nd plant picture could be a Ammannia ;)
Still think 4 is Cabomba…..the reason is the whorl grows from a branch....where as Limnophila sessiliflora's whorl grows from around the stem.

Yeah the whirl is growing from the branch
So we have
1 Rotala rotundifolia
2 Ammannia
3 Hornwort/Ceratophyllum demersum
4 Cabomba

Defenitely Cabomba - looks like C. Aquatica and not C. carolineana(last one is on the invasive list, illegal to trade and own).
Sorry, Darrel, but leaves are not in a whirl. They are on a leaf-stem. What you see is a side-shoot and the highest ones are flower-stems, holding very young flower-buds...........(which is actually also very typical of traded Cabomba, since they are commercially grown in shallow ponds).

I know now, as soon as @hogan53 pointed that out it became obviously a Cabomba sp.

I think it was a case of post in haste repent at leisure
