I wish I'd taken a camera to school yesterday when I did my half-termly maintenance on a tank I installed for them a couple of years ago. It's...
Very nice :D
As for the cherries, lets just say i havent seen any babies. adults have been fine though. There must have been some baby survivors though, as i...
Cherry Barbs and Otocinclus, with Cherry Shrimp :)
Thanks George :)
Re: A Different Approach/Untitled (the Mini M!!)
Haven't posted on here for ages it seems - been busy reptiling and reefing...
Anyway, this tank...
Re: A Different Approach/Untitled (the Mini M!!)
Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to the next one :D I'm thinking low light again (as I finished...
I think this will be the final image for this scape, although it will keep going for a while until the 60P is ready to go up (still...
Nicely done, the rocks really stand out :) They're an unusual colour but it works
Your hardscape has given me inspiration for my pufferfish tank :D
You need to use the IMG tag to post a picture, not the URL :)
Very nice hardscape :D Is it still running? I'd try it with different plants and see how it looks again. Kinda like George did with the Iwagumi.
Not a bad tank George, not bad :P Way under-judged, should have been top 100 like everyone says!
Deserves a much higher ranking than that in my opinion, really like it
Brilliant Photography, and great result :) Nice one.
Ooh thats pretty nice :) Well done
Re: 120cm - George of the Jungle
Very nice Jungle :) Makes me really want to set up the Rio180 low tech again, but the puffer with dig it all up!
Looks very nice, I do love those Osaka tanks :)
Your Tetras look huge if that's 5 foot! Geophagus look great too :)
Wow, these are fantastic! such attention to detail! Your water/river effect is genius too. What is it made of?
Very nice tanks, and great improvement since 2007! The Iwagumi may not have been successful for you but it looks very healthy. Your 2010 scape is...
Re: My greenscape
I like the rockwork, nicely positioned :)
Love it - even the end view looks stunning!
Another brilliant scape :D What made you chose powder and Seachem ferts over ADA this time, compared to the Iwagumi?
Really nice Iwagumi :) I've always liked Glosso and Hairgrass together.
Very nice Viktor - it looks so nice on the enlarged version on Flickr on the dark background, it's a much crisper image than on here :) I didn't...
I like that carpet, very nice :) Got a soft spot for umbrosum at the moment too
AdAndrews - Nice to see you're treating a Green Spotted Puffer properly! Tis quite rare to see one salty!
Here's my current tank, but I've had a...
Could you try getting a bit more flow over the Riccia? I know I had some BGA in a dead spot of my last few tanks.
Very nice :)
I bet they love it in there :)
Trust you!
New shot just quickly. The aim was just to get rid of the horrible purple background!
Aaahhh well it'll grow back! :D
It's a 40cm ;) About 25l
Right, I've got another photo today post-trim and rock re-positioning
Which would you use?
I like that tank :D Not something I would normally go for, but I do like it!
Bueller - Its plain ol' Java Moss and White Cloud Mountain Minnows :D
PM - I *think* I've seen it on aquaessentials once or twice
Thanks for the rock I.D. Planter
Peter, after your last Iwagumi that means a lot, cheers! :D I will have to try and get another decent...
Sorry about the quality, it's a phone pic...
I've just done a trim on the moss, so it's all nice and smooth :D Put a bit more shape into it, so it should look much better once its grown in...
Not sure, but it's not slate. See what others think....
They're not landscapes. I'm using Landscapes under the moss (don't tell anyone!! lol), and they are different in both colour and texture. I'm...
BTW, does anyone know what these rocks are? I want more! Love em!
All Java as far as I know :D
All I can say is you've got quite the imagination! :p
Beats me mate, i dunno!
Maybe I should sneak an Easter Island head in there and go all "Oliver-Knott-style"
I was thinking that, but couldnt find a face in the rock! :( Never mind!
I was getting bored of the other layouts, and it was a bit overgrown so it's changed again now :D
This is the 3rd layout without touching the...
Re: UKaps ADA Showcase
#874 - At Forest's Gate. Shame my latest tank missed the deadline, it would probably have done better. Never mind, there's...
Thanks. It''s not a final photo or anything this time round, hence I didn't remove the equipment, but I suppose thats no excue for lazyness...
Thanks for all the advice :D
I spent 3 nerve-racking hours re-scaping the tank last night, only to re-do it again this morning :?
Hi Zoe :D Tank's looking great
Like the plecs too :)
Thanks George, I can see what you mean although the word I would use is "overgrown"! I was really pleased with the rockwork, so before I...
Glad you like it :D
lol I wouldn't leave the card on all the time, just blu tacked it to the wall for the shot. Then just shine a light at it...
Ray - I bought black, white and grey card from WH Smiths this morning to try out, and this was the white one. My wall is a blue colour, which may...
Well it's been in there about a couple of months, and all it's done is bushed out and gone sideways. Maybe that's because of the high lighting,...
Ah ok, erm 40L x 23D x 27H
Clue's in the title mate, 40cm (25l) Yeah lampeye's sound the best choice to me as well. Thanks
Thanks, it's mainly due to your help that I got rid of the algae! Maybe if the Blyxa grew in a bit more, it might look better with a triangular...
OK, got rid of the vast majority of algae now, so here's a (probably) final shot. Tried white, black and grey backgrounds and this seemed to come...
Very nice, welcome to the forum. This scape has got to be one of my favourites  Great photography too :D
Is that all ADA?
It's about 5", and almost root-bound at the back
We've just inhereted it and there's nowhere for it to go!
A view from the living room...
I love it, it's filling in very nicely. I think the Harlequins are the perfect choice too. What Crypts are they on the left hand side BTW?
Nice tank and stunning Gouramis. I think the tank would benefit from some smaller twigs though. :)
I think it was a loam based John Innes mix, so it didn't just dump all its nutrients all at once like a peat based one would (think Ive got that...
You can often get away with just dosing trace elements if you have enough of NPK from food/fish waste (which you can get from Tropica Plant...
You could try the JBL fertilisers in a lot of places now, but so far I prefer Tropica's Plant Nutrition. Are you going to dose NPK or just trace?
Nice tank. I think it could look even better with a black background though. Are you dosing ferts?
I honestly couldn't tell you as I just grabbed some off the garden centre shelf, but I'm sure most brands would be fine. Sorry couldn't help more...
loam based aquatic potting soil
Ed, its a pretty Tetra  . A red one at that, with a black fin!! Thats all I know
Here is my (our!) low tech tank I set up for my parents, as they didn't want anything fancy. Just mud, sand, plants and fish. I took some photo's...
I don't know how many of you have seen the PFK results, but I came 1st place in the u17 Junior catagory which I'm really pleased with! :D
Well I've finally managed to sort out my AGA entry for this year (cutting it kinda fine!). Looks like it'll be up against some very high quality...
Hey George, yeah I'm at Sparsholt. Craig said about a "plant guy" coming down with Jeremy. Didn't realise it was you though, it would be great to...
To do the sides of the tank to get them all straight I just followed the photography guite on APC I think it was. The only other things I do is...
Hey guys, here's pics from my latest tank, At Forest's Gate. I can add more info if anyone's interested :D
